Gatsby Greatness

Yesterday was just fantastic. It was my day off and I was able to enjoy a great lunch with some of my friends out-of-town, attend a local downtown association meeting, and then a Gatsby cocktail party and then the movie! Needless to say, I slept great last night.
The Downtown association meeting split us into task force groups and I am on the “Dog-Friendly” committee. That’s right-Yay! I have my first project and it couldn’t be more perfect.
One of my dear friends had a few ladies over for a Pre-Gatsby get together. As usual, she had amazing food and cocktails. It’s a pretty dang good Tuesday when you are eating caviar and sipping on cocktails before a movie. Thanks Cyn! As for the movie, I don’t get why anyone would give it a bad review. It was fantastic. The portrayal of the characters was on point. The movie started at 8:30 and didn’t go off until 11:00 and not one soul left the theater for any reason. It was that good.
It was a decadent day with amazing women. Back to real life today. I will be daydreaming today about how great my day off was yesterday and smiling a little extra. Life is grand! Happy Wednesday everyone!

  1. I loved loved loved the movie, I thought the casting was perfect and I was so thrilled that they didn’t try to tone down the darkness of the novel.

  2. It was such a fun evening!!! Some great friendships and a great movie!! It’s so much fun to be a little fancy now and then. So glad you and Bean were there!

    1. It’s rare that I think a movie is pretty perfect, but I think this one is just that. Carey Mulligan is the perfect Daisy and Leo is the perfect Gatsby for starters and oh my goodness, the costumes…
