It’s been a while since I have had the honor of hosting a baby shower. My sister and I hosted one for one of our local girlfriends on Saturday. We decided to have a brunch style party. This way people could come early, eat, drink and still have plenty of their Saturday to enjoy. We had a great turnout! yay! I didn’t make anything fancy and stuck with the basics of a brunch. I made a sausage , egg and cheese casserole, cheesy grits, yogurt and berry parfaits, pimento cheese sandwiches, chicken salad cups, asparagus wrapped in proscuitto and then desserts. Of course we served “old school” sherbert punch, mimosas, bambina’s with lemonade and prosecco, tea and antioxidant water. We wanted it to be very girly and used lots of silver trays, antique crystal and my sister’s china. My sister had a yard full of beautiful roses that we used all around the house, too. Our guest of honor seemed really pleased and she got some great loot. She is glowing and we are so very happy for her family! Life is good!
