Intrigue at Lunch
I am in the midst of another juice cleanse. Yesterday during my lunch break I went home and sat on my screened-in porch with Mr. Sugarbears and started a new book. It’s fantastic and is full of mystery and intrigue. I try to mix up the types of books I read. I can easily be drawn into a series and never want to leave the story. In fact I already know that it is going to be hard to finish this book without wanting more. Maybe the author will have more for me in the future. His writing enchants me. The Bookman’s Tale by Charlie Lovett has totally captured my attention. This is extremely important right now. My mind is easily distracted by the thought of eating solid food. In fact one of the parts in the book talked about eating out at an Indian restaurant and just the mention of the curry completely distracted me. Anyway, it’s a great book and I am only 72 pages in.
Today is the last day of a three-day detox cleanse and I am ready for it to be over. I really do love the after effects of the cleanse. My skin is healthier, my mind is clearer and usually I lose a pound or two. Unfortunately during the cleanse my mind seems fuzzy. This time I don’t have the caffeine withdrawal headaches, since I gave caffeine up after the last cleanse. Last time I did this I took time off from work and spent some time at a spa at the beach. It was a lot more glorious than sitting at a desk each day with a cooler of juice while co-workers eat all kinds of yummy things around you. Nevertheless, tomorrow I will be extra happy and my body and mind will thank me. In the meantime I will remember to stay calm and not think at all about all of the yummy food in the world. Happy and healthy thoughts only allowed. 🙂 Live life healthy and happy everyone!

  1. Congratulations for almost being finished with another cleanse, Shannon. Go grab you some cheese!!

I will check this book out. I’m still looking for a few good titles to put on my list.

    1. Thanks! I am looking forward to meeting my friends tomorrow night for wine and cheese. It’s technically not allowed on the post cleanse, so I will limit it tomorrow…but this weekend is a totally different story. 🙂
I really love this book so far. I can’t wait to get home and read more tonight. So far I have to say it’s one of the best books I have read in a while and I feel like I read a lot of good books. I hope you’ll like it. 🙂

  2. So what is the Bookman’s Tale about? Maybe that will be a good blog post when you get back, I can’t wait to steal it from ya!!!!
